Volleyball Victoria will host trials for the Victorian Men’s and Women’s teams to compete the 2019 AVL at the State Volleyball Centre, Dandenong in September.
Trials have been scheduled for:
- Wednesday, 4 September (V1-3)
Women from 7-9pm Men from 8-10pm
- Saturday, 7 September (V5-7)
Men from 10am -12:30pm, Women from 10:00-12:30pm
- Sunday, 8 September (V1-2)
Women from 1-2:30pm, Men from 2:30-4pm
Registration is required prior to attending trials and participation in all sessions is compulsory. Exemptions will only be granted in exceptional circumstances.
Trial Registration: All athletes that would like to trial must register online and complete the Athlete Agreement. The trial fee of $50.00 must be paid prior to the commencement of trials. Late trial registration payment will attract an extra $10.00 on the day.
Announcement of Coach appointments will commence next week.
The new men’s and women’s teams will be coordinated through the Volleyball Victoria Office and be the sole Victorian representatives in the 2019 AVL Super League. Team name(s) are yet to be finalised and the teams will compete against the Adelaide Storm, Canberra Heat, Queensland Pirates, Sydney (name tbc), and WA Steel in a double-header home and away format.
Volleyball Victoria is keen to honour the legacy of former Victorian AVL teams, the VVA Vultures and the highly successful Uni Blues program.
The AVL fixture has been released and Volleyball Victoria will host three home and travel for two away fixtures:

* The AVL Championships is an open-entry second tier competition to be conducted in a similar format to the 2018 AVL Championship. Teams interested in entering must be ‘sanctioned’ by Volleyball Victoria and can contact Volleyball Australia for more information.
