Tal Karp Headlines Annual Affiliate Conference
Volleyball Victoria is pleased to announce Tal Karp, former Australian women’s soccer player and Change our Game Ambassador, as the headline presenter for the Annual Affiliate Conference to be held over the weekend of Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 March.
Tal’s accomplishments on and off the field are many, having competed at both the FIFA World Cup and Olympics before undertaking an Associateship with Justice Hayne of the High Court. She is a strong advocate for female leadership and retains a keen insight in sport innovation.
The Conference schedule has been posted online and includes sessions for administrators, volunteers, coaches, and officials. In addition to the presentation by Tal Karp, Tom Dixon from Vicsport will continue the very important work being undertaken in the yearlong Child Safe Sport project.
Other key presentations from outside the volleyball community, include by Dr Dale Harris (Victoria University) and Dave Burt (Sport And Life Training), while several sessions will be led by Victorian volleyball figures.
The Conference remains a substantial undertaking, acknowledging the time and effort volunteers commit to their Clubs and Associations, and is subsidised by Volleyball Victoria to ensure accessibility and affordability. We thank Victoria University for their considerable support and look forward to offering more opportunities through the University and in further supporting affiliates.

Beach Schools Cup Entries Open
Entries have opened for the first Volleyball Victoria event of the year, with the Beach Schools Cup scheduled for competition in the second week of March. The Beach Schools Cup was the last event delivered by Volleyball Victoria in 2020 and underlines the length of time off-court experienced by much of the sport in Victoria.
The competition will be undertaken over three days:
- Wednesday 10 March – Year 7 & 8
- Thursday 11 March – Year 9 & 10
- Friday 12 March – Year 11 & 12
