Volleyball Victoria State League

After 595 days, Volleyball Victoria State League will return to court Saturday, 10 April in multiple venues across the State.  It will be a gladdening sight to finally return to play in substantive numbers.

The 2021 edition of State League will include 149 teams across a restructured competition including Premier, Reserves, and Juniors; the largest contingent to take to court in recent memory.

The restructure is in the early stages and will set the direction for a sustainable Club-based competition that both provides and receives benefit from Affiliate competitions.

Australian Youth Beach Volleyball Championships

Whilst we keenly watch the developments in Brisbane, the Victorian State Team Delegation continues preparations for the Australian Youth Beach Volleyball Championships to be competed on the Gold Coast, 26-29 April.

The Team is well balanced with a combination of experience and youthful enthusiasm led by State Teams Program Manager, Scott Davidson, and Program Coach, Nic Arena.  We wish the Team all the very best and look forward to new of results throughout the Championship.

Committee update

Annual General Meeting – Rules of Association

The Volleyball Victoria Committee will bring forward a final version of the much-consulted Rules of Association, in the form of a more contemporary Constitution.  The new document will be circulated in advance of the Meeting and reflects the input of Affiliates.

These changes remain necessary to ensure ongoing compliance with the Associations Incorporation Reform Act (2012).

Awards & Recognition

There will be no Affiliate Awards for 2020 but a physical presentation of the 2019 Awards will take place after the Annual General Meeting and annual Stakeholder Forum.  The Awards, which will include the presentation of 2020 Life Memberships, will include an open bar and finger food for all invited guests.

An Agenda for the Forum will be prepared ahead of time.
