Melbourne Vipers Trials & Information

Volleyball Victoria’s Melbourne Vipers are open age senior representative teams for both men and women. They participate in the Australian Volleyball League, a home and away season that sees games being played between October and December.

The last AVL season (2019) saw our Women winning Gold and our Men winning Bronze.

The 2021 and 2020 seasons were cancelled due to Covid 19.

2022 AVL Program

Trials

Trail 1: Saturday 19^th March 2022 (V5-V7)

Women 1pm-3pm / Men 3pm-5pm

Trial 2: Sunday 20^th March 2022

Women: 10am-12pm, courts V1-V3

Men: 10am-12pm, courts V5-V7

Location: State Volleyball Centre, 270 Stud Rd, Dandenong North, VIC, 3175

Cost: $40 per athlete

Athletes must register before the 1^st trial and participation in both trials is compulsory. Exemptions will only be granted in exceptional circumstances. 

Selection

Melbourne Vipers seek to select the best available Victorian players to represent the Vipers in the AVL. Preference will be given to players that actively training and playing at a suitable level, such as the Victorian State League and above.

A squad of approximately 14-16 players will be selected from the trialling athletes, with the addition of up to 2 ‘junior’ squad members at the discretion of the coaches.

Training

Trainings will be held one Sunday a month during the state league season at the State Volleyball Centre, Dandenong.

Trainings will move to twice a week at the beginning of September through to the end of the Australian Volleyball League in December.

Tuesdays: 7:30pm – 9:30pm V5-7

Thursdays: 7:30pm – 9:30pm V5-7
