Bendigo to Host 2025 Country Championships

Volleyball Victoria is thrilled to announce that the 2025 Country Championships will be held in Bendigo, Victoria, on the Kings Birthday long weekend from 6-9 June 2025. This prestigious event will take place at Red Energy Arena, providing a premier venue for the best country volleyball talent in the state.

Volleyball Victoria Chief Executive Officer, Cori Wilder is excited about the event going back to Bendigo, and the fantastic facility of Red Energy Arena.

“Country Championships is a special event on the annual calendar for Volleyball in Victoria. With over five decades of rivalry and passion, it brings together the best players from country Victoria in a highly competitive competition,” said Wilder.

The City of Greater Bendigo has been instrumental in securing the Country Championships for the region, reinforcing Bendigo’s reputation as a hub for major sporting events. Their support ensures players, coaches, officials, and spectators will experience top-tier facilities and a fantastic atmosphere in the heart of regional Victoria.

City Manager Major Events Nicole McNamara is delighted to see the return of the Country Championships.

“The City of Greater Bendigo is excited to host this exciting tournament over the long weekend at Red Energy Arena.

“Bendigo prides itself as a welcoming city that combines the best facilities, accommodation and superb hospitality so it promises to be a memorable tournament for players, supporters and volleyball fans,” Ms McNamara said.

Since its inception in 1970, the Country Championships have grown significantly, starting with Division One Men and Women, expanding to include Division Two Men and Women in 1980, and further evolving in 2016 with the addition of Division Three Men and Women. The championships have been held annually, with the only exceptions being in 2020 and 2021 due to COVID-19.

Volleyball Victoria looks forward to an exciting weekend of elite competition, as teams from across the state battle for championship glory. The 2025 event promises to showcase the incredible skill and dedication of country volleyball athletes while bringing economic and community benefits to the Bendigo region.
