Gold for Victoria at Aus Youth Champs

Volleyball Victoria’s Youth State Team program has now concluded in Bendigo, Victoria at the 2024 Mahindra Australian Youth Championships with an impressive 7 teams returning home last night with medals.
After finishing with 10 points in the President’s Cup rankings at 2023’s tournament and an honourable third place, Victoria lifted to second place with an almighty 16 points, the most points Victoria has ever received. Queensland were once again awarded the President’s Cup with 25 points.
Volleyball Victoria would like to thank all athletes involved, all coaches both within the State Team program and those who have supported athletes in their own club or school system, to all referees who continue to be the unsung heroes of the tournament, to all families and supporters of the Victorian State Team program, and to all volunteers and organisations that go above and beyond to support this program, thank you.
Congratulations to Volleyball Australia on yet another successful and impressive Youth Championships and congratulations to all competing States and Territories who attended, marking the first time since 1997 that all eight States and Territories held representative teams in the championship.

Volleyball Victoria would also like to congratulate Philippa Hannagan who was awarded the Victorian Coach of the Year award and also to Isadora Van Unen-Smith who was awarded the Junior Referee of the Tournament Award.
