South East Leisure to Manage Dandenong Stadium
July 1, 2022 will see a significant change at Dandenong Stadium with management of the venue transitioning to South East Leisure (SEL). A subsidiary of the City of Greater Dandenong Council, South East Leisure has been established to manage Dandenong’s four major aquatic and leisure facilities; Dandenong Oasis, Noble Park Aquatic Centre, Springers Leisure Centre and Dandenong Stadium.
In a major move, South East Leisure has worked in partnership with Volleyball Victoria to remove the door entry for players and spectators, making the venue more accessible for everyone. This change will come into effect from July 1, 2022 and bring the venue in line with how many other major stadiums operate throughout Victoria.
Volleyball Victoria has been working closely with South East Leisure in the lead up to the transition and General Manager Martin Stillman welcomes the changeover. Mr. Stillman said, “We’re looking forward to South East Leisure commencing and working in partnership with us at the home of Volleyball in Victoria.”
South East Leisure has appointed Ian Jenkins as Venue Manager of the two major stadium venues. Known to the wider volleyball community as both a player and administrator and recent Volleyball Victoria Board Member, Mr. Jenkins said “There is a lot of opportunity at Dandenong Stadium, the stadium has great potential and we’re looking forward to making a positive impact on the user experience from July 1.”
South East Leisure takes over management from the Dandenong Basketball Association and will bring a renewed focus on the management Dandenong’s major aquatic and leisure facilities.
Yours Sincerely
Martin Stillman
