The announcement by the Victorian Government to return to Stage 3 Stay at Home restrictions unfortunately is a major setback for the volleyball Return to Play Plans for those throughout metropolitan Melbourne and the Mitchell Shire.
Therefore, volleyball activities in metropolitan Melbourne and the Mitchell Shire must be suspended until Wednesday, 19 August 2020. Residents in these areas are also not permitted to travel to other areas to participate in volleyball activities.
The reintroduction of restrictions resulted in Volleyball Victoria having to make the decision to officially cancel the 2020 Volleyball Victoria State League, in addition to other School Events.
We understand at this time those members who are unable to participate in State League and other programs based in Metropolitan Melbourne and the Mitchell Shite have a lot of questions regarding the effect this has on your Volleyball Victoria membership. Volleyball Victoria is currently working on a number of strategies regarding 2020 membership and will make an announcement by 24 July. This enable us to make a decision that is fair for all stakeholders and participants.
For those participants in regional Victoria (excluding Mitchell Shire) the current advice remains with the Return to Play V3.5 in effect. We also remind all regional participants they must have a 2020 membership to be involved in any Affiliate volleyball activity.
A reminder that your membership offers more than just insurance. Other benefits include:
- SportsPass Member Benefits Program. This is a rewards program that contains benefits for all Volleyball Victoria members, with access to savings across a variety of products and services, another key benefit to being a Volleyball Victoria member.
- Support and assistance to not only our individual members but to our affiliates, including Return to Play resources, equipment, and other materials
- Unique online content, education, and training
- Access to a range of events and competitions
- Monthly E-Newsletter
